Best Hiking Boots
I am thrilled with this hiking boots. Did a 50 km walk easily on sand and gravel roads.

Great find!

Comfortable, stunning sjpe
Comfortable fit that is a little wider and therefore accommodates my "long" toes and bunions. Best buy is a very long time.

So far so good
These boots are extremely comfortable. I've been wearing them for five days and they haven't started splitting around the sole or breaking yet which is an experience that I often have with another brands. I hike for my job so my boots need to work. They look great too. So far I am delighted.

INCREDIBLE comfort, flexibility, moisture and temperature control!
This is an INCREDIBLE Boot. It's taken me to the summits of Mt Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp and Mt Kala Patthar.
I'm extremely hard on my footwear and I am getting 2500km + out of a pair.
I will never change!
Merrell claim "Out of the Box Comfort" this is very true - never had a blister or hot spot.

My boots might need more waterproofing, what should I apply?

I recommend the Storm Outdoor Footwear Cleaner to clean the boot first, then apply the Storm Footwear Proofer to add the water repellent coating.
Merrell Women’s Erie Mid LTR Waterproof Hiking Boot. These boots are superb however walking through long wet grass has caused immense water in the shoe causing my socks to be drenched. Should I be putting an additional sealant/waterproofing on these boots?
HiIt could have happened that your socks got wet from the grass which soaked into the boot. I would recommend wearing a K-Way Anklet or K-Way Gaiter when walking through long grass. I also recommend that you regularly wash and proof your boots with the Storm Outdoor Footwear Cleaner to wash the shoe and Storm Footwear Proofer to maintain the waterproofing.

Merrell sizing for hiking boots? Take 0.5 size bigger or normal shoe size? Don't want to be dealing with bashed up toe nails from a boot that's too snug with hiking socks.

This boot should fit your normal size. We do recommend that you fit the boot with the socks that you intend wearing with the boot before using the boot. If they are too small, please exchange them for a bigger size.

Merrell generally have a slightly broader fit.
Please see the note from Inge Deschepper who also has a narrow foot and she was able to tighten the boot for a comfortable fit.
