General Flight Guidelines are as follows, as per the SA Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA):

• Stay 50 metres away at all times from any roads or people
• No flying at night or in any SAN Park areas (Nature Reserves)
• No flying drones heavier than 7 kg or higher than 120m
• The drone needs to be flown in line of sight

No flying in restricted areas, such as:

• Near-manned aircraft
• Controlled, Restricted, and Prohibited Airspaces

Negligent operation of the drone may result in fines and possible prosecution by SAPS.

If you want to fly your drone for commercial gain, then a Remote Pilots Licence (RPL) is required along with a Remote Operating Certificate (ROC).

Charging someone for your services and not having the above could lead to a hefty fine from the SACAA and SAPS.
